This is very easy and fun.

Make use of those lonely socks whose partners got eaten in the wash!!

Puppets are a great way for children to talk about their world to adults without feeling pressure or embarrassment.

YOU WILL NEED:

A Sock
Permanent Marker
Scissors
Felt
Fabric or Craft Glue
Scrap Yarn
Pipe cleaners - to make antlers, horns or antennas if required

1 PARENT STEP Save a single clean sock, large enough to fit loosely over a child's hand.
2 CHILD STEP Put all craft supplies on a table.
3 CHILD STEP Place hand in sock with thumb and fingers working like a mouth.
4 PARENT STEP Mark lightly with a marker - areas for mouth, eyes, nose, and ears.
5 PARENT STEP Cut ears and mouth from felt and glue in marked areas.
6 CHILD STEP Glue wiggly eyes in place.
7 CHILD STEP Use yarn cut into small strings and glued to sock for hair or horse's mane.
8 PARENT STEP Make antlers, horns, or antennas from pipe cleaners.
SAFETY NOTES For young children use a black permanent marker not small pieces such as wiggly eyes or buttons that can remove and place in their mouths.
